Eligibility Criteria for CTET November 2012
Educational Qualification: Primary Stage (for Classes I-V)
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.  OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Educational Qualification: Elementary Stage (for Classes VI-VIII)
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year BA/ BSc.Ed or BA. Ed/BSc.Ed. OR 
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

ENTRAL TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (CTET)
  • This exam is mandatory for all the candidates who are aspiring to a teacher, as this exam is conducted by Central bard of secondary examination (CBSE).
  • The applicants should have completed 2 years diploma or 4 years Bachelors program in B.ed or BA or B.Sc with minimum 50% of marks.
  • The application will be available in the month of April till mid week of May in selected Syndicate bank and various CBSE offices.
  • The examination fee is rs.500/- for general category & Rs.450/- for SC/ST candidates.
  • This can be paid through by sending a demand draft in favor of “Secretary, CBSE” from any nationalized bank payable at New Delhi.
  • The applications can be availed by sending a request to above address, kindly mention on the envelope “Request for Application CTET”.
  • The applications can be downloaded from www.cbse.nic.in
  • The medium of instruction can be either Hindi or English.
  • The exam will be conducted in the last week of June.
  • The results will be announced exactly after 1 month of examination.
  • The candidates need to secure 60% in CTET exam.
  • The mark sheets will be dispatched to candidates in the month of August.
  • The term negative marking is not applied in this exam.
  • The duration of exam 90 minutes & it consists of two papers namely paper 1 & Paper 2 and topics covered in each paper are given below:

CTET (CBSE Central Teacher Eligibility Test) January 2012

NOTICE

In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and subsequently amended vide Notification dated 29th July 2011 had laid down the minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. It had been inter-alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of Section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi which will be held on 29.01.2012 (Sunday).

1                    The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

2                    CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.

3                    Schools owned and managed by the State government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.
Cost of CTET Information Bulletin and Application Form
(i)                 For General/OBC candidates Rs.500/-
(ii)               For SC/ST/Differently abled candidates Rs.250/-

Last date for receipt of application form in CBSE: 30.11.2011 (online and offline both) Note: 7 days grace time i.e. up to 07.12.2011 for receipt of Application Form will be allowed to the candidates belonging to remote areas viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep.
